PERSONALITY:
Riley Thomas has never understood the point of being judgmental. He believes that people should be who they are, rather than bending to the ideas that other people try to force on them. He's very much so a peacekeeper, rather than an antagonistic sort. He's Switzerland. If people are at odds and he'd rather not be involved, he simply chooses neither side and ignores the entire situation. He might try to assist without taking sides or, if it's an easy situation to take sides on, he'll make his opinion known. For the most part, though, if it's not his business? He'd rather stay the fuck out of it.

He's willing to try anything once, though trying it a second time is merely negotiable. If he doesn't like something, he's not up for repeating it, but... you can't know until you've tried it, right? There are OBVIOUS exceptions to this such as... murder, rape, and all of that. But as long as no harm is coming to anyone from it, he's not against giving it a go. He's of the opinion that you should make the most of the days that you have and spend your time wisely. It's pointless to sit around uselessly, after all, when you could be ON THE MOVE, having fun, experiencing new things.

One of his favourite things to do over the summers, for example, is to travel. He loves experiencing new cultures, visiting places he'd never been, and tends to keep a sketchbook on him. That way, he can have something to remember the places he's been and the things he's seen. He also enjoys sketching at school, of course, though those tend to either focus on specific people or be for the comic that he's made up. Not that anyone really knows about the comic, as Riley tends to keep it in his trunk. He's not too certain it's good enough to show anyone yet, after all.

Riley is easy going, he's excitable, and he loves to do. He's hardworking, to a point, with his studies. He's not the type to spend all evening with his nose in the books, but he does understand the value of studying. It's just that, well, what if he never makes it out of Hogwarts? If he dies before he leaves, he doesn't want to have wasted his entire seven years at Hogwarts sitting around the dorm studying.

HISTORY:
- Stacey Call met Dean Thomas in a park. Upon noticing the excellent drawing that he held in his hand, she started a conversation up. Because, well, when an attractive man who's also an artist shows up in the park one day, you simply don't let a moment's hesitation pass you by. Especially when have zero time to meet blokes due to your job at the hospital.
- When Dean revealed the fact that he did, actually, have magic, Stacey freaked out. Which wasn't terribly surprising, considering she'd never even considered the possibility that magic existed in reality. She'd read plenty of fantasy books, sure, but the idea that it was REAL? That was... insanity. Truly. After telling Dean that she needed time to think, Stacey focused on work for a few weeks. She did, indeed, need time to think things over.
- It was only nine months later that Stacey got into contact with Dean again. She had just had a baby, their baby, and she wasn't sure if the baby would have magic or not. To be honest, the idea of it freaked her out quite a bit. She told Dean that he could see the baby, could come visit with him, but that she did NOT want to get back together with him. It was nothing personal, really, she simply was too afraid of him to actually return to a relationship with Dean.
- Dean, however, found love during this time of near ostracizing from his child's life. She was a very nice, very sweet witch who, ironically, was training to become a Healer. Unsurprisingly, Dean's swimmers did their magic again and before the age of three, Riley had a younger brother. Not that he saw him too much in the first few years.
- When Riley was five years old, he showed his first signs of magic. That was also the year that Stacey gave custody of their son over to Dean, deciding that it was a bit too frightening to have a child in the house when they could explode the dishes when they were angered. Moving in with Dean, however, was probably the best thing that could have happened for Riley. He got his first taste of real magic that way.
- After starting to live with his father, Riley spent the vast majority of his time exploring the magical items within the house. Everything had a secret function, something that it would not have done had it been purely muggle. Then, of course, there were the joke gifts that his father brought home every once in a while. Things that made him turn into a bird for a short period of time, brooms that actually FLEW, magical things of all sorts.
- Hogwarts was AMAZING, obviously. It was a bunch of people who had magic, just like him, and didn't freak out when things happened. He was sorted into Gryffindor rather quickly and, despite not being the fondest of all of his roommates, he did find at least one good friend in the bunch.
- Riley's first girlfriend lasted a full year. Admittedly, it wasn't much of a relationship considering it went down in third year. They dated for the entirety, though, and the relationship consisted of holding hands for the first half. The second half, though, they did quite a bit of snogging.
- Riley's second, and latest, girlfriend was one he dated for the entirety of fifth and sixth year. She was the girl that he lost his virginity to. They also explored QUITE A BIT together in their relationship and, to be honest, Riley thought they would never, ever break up. He imagined them marrying after school, starting a family, all of that... but it didn't happen. The relationship ended.
- Riley saw his mother over the summer. It was a rather unfortunate meeting, to be honest, and he rather hated seeing her. He's very, very much so not his mother's son, nor does he care to know her. He's still reeling over it and, well, can't wait to head back to Hogwarts so that he's fully away from her grasp.

APPEARANCE: Riley is surprisingly tall at 6'1 1/2" in height. From a distance, or sitting, he doesn't look like he should stand so tall, yet he towers over several people in the school. Not all, but quite a few. He's got dark brown hair, brown eyes, and extremely tanned brown skin. He's a definite mixture of his mother and father, though he wishes he took over his father more so.
FAMILY:
DEAN THOMAS - father, artist. Riley loves his father. His father is the man in his opinion. He takes after him, a bit, mostly in height and drawing abilities. It's one of the things he's most proud of. He tends to listen to his father and actually take his advice into consideration for the most part.
STACEY CALL - mother, doctor. He's of the opinion that she's a complete bitch.
AMELIA THOMAS - stepmother, healer. Amelia is an excellent stepmother. She's loving, she cares about him a whole hell of a lot more than his mother does, and she's been around practically since day one. He's not incredibly close to her, but he does call her his Mum.
TRISTAN THOMAS - brother, fifth year Hufflepuff. TBD.
